      History:

      Riverside Golf Club was built in 1985. The surrounding residential neighbourhood grew cup around the golf course with most of the houses built in the 1990s and early 2000s. The periphery of the neighbourhood at the north end was built in the 2010s.

      Overview:

      Riverside is located in the northwest section of Ajax. Duffins Creek forms a green corridor along the western border of this neighbourhood. Beyond Duffins Creek is the municipal boundary between Ajax and Pickering to the west. The terrain in this neighbourhood is hilly which makes it a perfect setting for the Riverside Golf course that runs through the middle of the neighbourhood. The Executive style homes that overlook the golf course enjoy beautiful vistas of the Riverside greens and fairways.

      Homes:

      Riverside houses are mostly detached executive homes built in the 2000s. These houses feature brick or stone exteriors and double car garages and feature traditional architectural styles and accents. Many of the homes back onto or face the Riverside Golf Course. There are also smaller pockets of townhomes that are more recent additions to the neighbourhood.

      Recreation:

      Riverside Golf Club is a championship 9-Hole golf course nestled on 54 acres in the heart of the Duffins Creek greenbelt. Duffins Creek Trail is a multi-purpose trail situated within a greenbelt at the west end of the neighbourhood.

      Arts:

      The former St. Francis de Sales Church, appropriately situated on Church Street, is a Gothic Victorian architectural masterpiece that has been converted by the Town of Ajax into a multi-use community arts, cultural and performance centre now known as the St. Francis Centre. This beautiful venue hosts a myriad of arts events including: live theatre, film screenings, concerts, music recitals, workshops, art shows and private and public functions.
