Grandmothers Partnering with Africa is a group of over 30 women in the Greater Toronto Area. We are one of 160 groups raising awareness and funds to support the life-enhancing programs run by grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa and the community-led organizations that support them.
Since 2006, Grandmothers and grandothers in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States have rallied in response to the crisis faced by grandmothers in Africa as they struggle to raise millions of children orphaned by AIDS. Meg French, Executive Director of the Stephen Lewis Foundation has said that while AIDS once wiped out an entire generation, the recent issue of U.S. executive orders is condemning people to die. The consequences of these decisions by the Trump government, are harrowing. Lives will be lost.
