Duffins Crossing
History:
An Irish trader with the surname Duffin was active in this area in the 1790s. So much so that early surveys of the area named the meandering creek that runs through this neighbourhood after him. In the 1800s this area consisted of just a handful of pioneer homesteads. There was also the occasional mill site operating along Duffins Creek. Duffins Crossing was still rural in 1925 when Camp Yungvelt established a summer camp here for Jewish children. This camp operated until 1971 when the land was sold. The present day Duffins Crossing neighbourhood began development in 2016.
